Synopsis

This historic novel – Hidden Secrets of Jacob’s House – is a love story set prior and during the American Civil War and chronicles the making and life of an abolitionist. While our northern and southern states struggle with issues of economy and slavery, one young man, Jacob Dellinger, will journey from an idealistic, impressionable farm boy into an anti-slavery activist. The formation and resolution of his character will be influenced due to his witnessing both the grandeur of southern plantation life versus the brutality of slavery. By choosing his own pathway to combat this issue, he joins the Underground Railroad. Events happening while he champions this clandestine organization produce tension filled episodes; episodes that will resonate and mature into ghostly forms casting their shadows well into future times. However the ending of this story is totally electrifying, with a tender and gratifying conclusion.
